Services and Pricing
Each client relationship is unique.
Some clients want me to support them as a book coach or editor, others want to hire me as their ghostwriter, and some want a combination of services.
Our first step is to meet and discuss your project.
From there, I can build a quote outlining my proposed services and fee.
How I Can Help You
- Clarify your book’s core message and sum it up in one sentence.
- Interview you to pull out ideas, stories, and other materials for the book.
- Write—or edit—a book proposal and sample chapters that lead to a publishing deal.
- Make personal introductions to literary agents who may be interested in your project.
- Offer guidance on publishing options (traditional, hybrid, or self-publishing), helping you choose the ideal path for your project.
- Write—or edit—your book manuscript so that it’s polished, strong, and ready to share with the world.
- Do research, fact-checking, and add citations to the manuscript.
- Gather a group of test-readers who provide feedback before your book is published.
- Help you develop a successful book launch plan.
- Provide emotional support through the ups and downs of the publishing process, helping you remember why your book matters.
Process
- If you’re a new client, we’ll typically begin with a small “test project” to ensure we have strong creative chemistry and feel confident we can do great work together.
- After completing the test project, we’ll decide if we want to move forward with a larger project.
Pricing
- After hearing more about what you need, I can provide a proposal with my recommended services and how much I would charge.
- To give you a ballpark sense of pricing, here are some ranges:

“Special thanks to my writing coach Alexandra Franzen. From the first draft, to the final version, you brought calm and encouraging energy and helped me bring this project over the finish line. Writing a book while also running a women’s health clinic, managing a team, serving clients, and raising kids is not easy, but you kept me on track with my deadlines. I honestly don’t know how I could’ve done this without you!”
—Dr. Corina Dunlap, author, Hormone Powered
“I hired Alex to help create my first book. I had 20 years’ worth of notes, ideas, and recipes but putting it all together felt overwhelming. Alex helped to shape everything into a book that’s educational and also inspiring, funny, and easy to read. I put ‘write a book’ on my vision board and now, with Alex’s help … my vision is a reality.”
—Dr. Nicolette Richer, author, Eat Real to Heal
“At a meeting at Random House—with Franzen to my right—I told my publishing power-team, ‘If anything, uh, happens to me, Alexandra can finish writing the book.’ I trust her that much. And I know her talent that well.”
—Danielle LaPorte, author, The Desire Map and The Fire Starter Sessions
“I just have to tell you… I was going through the book this morning. The edits you made were so bang on, so beautiful, so exactly right. You took the esoteric ideas from my brain and gave everything such clarity so that readers can grasp these concepts easily. I want to thank you for the highest quality work. I’m so thankful.”
—Spenser Brassard, author, Fertile Ground
“Your exceptional work has me doing cartwheels with excitement! You truly are extraordinary and consistently exceed my expectations. I am immensely grateful.”
