New in town? Trot this way …

If you are new to my virtual world, welcome & thank you
(and gosh aren’t you cute!)

Here is a 475-word explanation of who I am, what I do, and why I do it.

Because sometimes I forget to remind … myself. And you.

I am a writer, teacher, human, creator of wee-books & digital tools and soon-to-be-published author*.

At the core of my being is the belief that if you can’t describe something in words — words that other people can understand & rally behind — then it doesn’t exist.**

And if it doesn’t exist, then it can’t touch anyone else. It can’t solve any problems, heal any hearts, or make the planet a better place. (And that’s an awful waste.)

I want to teach you how to find the right words to translate your ideas into reality — which is the best kind of magic.

I want to show you how to become a clear & noble communicator — persuasive, but not pushy. Inspiring, but not airy. Honest, but not cruel.

I want to help you become the kind of person that Mr. Rogers would be proud to call his neighbor, that Oscar Wilde would invite to a soirée, and that RuPaul would deem “fabulous.”

Most of all: I want to help you remember who you are, reveal who you’re becoming, and be understood.

If you are new ’round here, here are 15 places you might want to explore, first …

… it’s a collection of helpful how-to’s that will (a) make your life a lot easier (b) make your words a lot shinier and (c) remind you to leave the world in better condition that you found it.

Enjoy to the max!

1. How to break a commitment without ruining anyone’s life (or your reputation).

2. How to (not) crumble into a million pieces when you hit your creative ceiling.

3. How to express an opinion & get noticed, even if you’re a “lowly minion” (or just feel like one).

4. How to get pumped about your work (again) — when you’re REALLY not feelin’ it.

5. How to get noticed in the crowded, noisy, super-saturated & shamefully forgetful online universe.

6. How to find your creative rhythm & get stuff done a bajillion times faster.

7. How to choose your Next Big Thing.

8. How to be annoying & actively repel opportunities.

9. How to evolve psycho-fast — as a person, entrepreneur & lover.

10. How to throw a rave inside your brain.

11. How to work for free, without secretly resenting everyone on earth.

12. How to bestow a courageous compliment.

13. How to survive when everything sucks.

14. How to be an (even) better person & practically levitate with awesomery.

15. How to make your dreams come true.

XO.

*My first print book, 50 Ways To Say You’re Awesome, will be released by Sourcebooks in September 2013. And! I have a second book project coming out in the fall — a 3-year journal for couples called Our Q&A A Day, from Random House | Crown.

**Or at least, it doesn’t exist anywhere other than the inside of your mind.

Oh man. I have been noticing a LOT in the entrepreneurial world lately about how eager people (myself included) are to get to the WHAT. And the HOW.

While neglecting the most important piece. The WHY.

Am actually launching a new service based around precisely this – getting crazy clear on your purpose, so that everything else has a foundation to fall on. So far, I’m blown out of the water by how much it had helped ground people.

Thanks for sharing this. It is an amazing reminder that this work is SO fundamental.

Ohlalalaaaa! How awesome is this! Funny thing is that I dedicated this weeks newsletter to you and your hardcore magician ways of taking people closer to and remember their own brilliance by using words (and the right Q’s).

…and now THIS is what you post. You, Alexandra are so spot on it’s insane.

THANK YOU for being such a (heart shaped) gem <3

You wanna catch that love I wrote about you? http://us4.campaign-archive2.com/?u=4b86602a410d0c9ac246ed39a&id=b61ba7770b

It may be snowing outside, where I live, but I woke up to brilliant sunshine and feeling of warmth that went right to my toes when I read this. You ARE the BOMB!
